Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab
Graham Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab is located at 180 South Main in Canton, within the Graham Medical Group Clinic. Patients are able to enjoy their rehabilitation exercise in the newly constructed addition, completed In October of 2016.The beautiful facility provides 3,800 square feet of usable space that is offers a wide variety of exercise equipment suitable for a patient of any age, no matter the level of ability or the limitations they might have. Positioned right next door to physical therapy, it is equipped with lockers and individual showers. A state-of-the-art kitchen/classroom is also available to participants for their involvement in the provision of education and food preparation demonstrations.
Focusing on both prevention and rehabilitation, Graham Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab offers several wellness options.
Regardless of the program chosen, participants receive personalized instruction on equipment usage from professional nurses and exercise specialists. We ask participants to provide feedback to our staff on their response to the exercise program. This allows the staff to design a program specific to each participant's needs and abilities. Exercising in our clean, safe, state-of-the-art facility is uplifting and enjoyable.
Most programs require a physician’s order. Our staff is happy to obtain this for you. The reason for the order can come from a variety of health concerns. Any adult is eligible to participate in our maintenance/prevention programs, even if they have no significant medical diagnosis.
We are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) in both cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation: 8-12 week heart monitored exercise/education program following heart attack, bypass surgery, valve replacement/repair, congestive heart failure, angioplasty, catheterization with stents, heart transplant, or stable angina. Insurance covered.
Phase II Pulmonary Rehabilitation: 12 week monitored exercise/education program following onset or acute flare-up of many lung diseases. Insurance covered.
Phase III/IV Programs: Maintenance exercise programs to fit your lifestyle. Monthly heart monitored sessions available. Come 2, 3, 4 or 5 times a week for exercise…whatever you’d like. Weekly blood pressures are conducted. Thorough orientation on equipment. Affordable self-pay with monthly fee. Spouse discounts.
PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) Rehabilitation: Supervised exercise programs have been considered a first-line form of treatment for claudication (cramping pain in the legs brought about by activity, due to blocked arteries in the lower extremities). Exercise training has been show to improve walking ability in PAD patients that suffer from this type of pain. Our staff will help you train safely, and effectively to work toward this improvement in walking, with a decrease in the amount of discomfort, and an increase in your quality of life.
Lifestyle Weight Management: A lifestyle modification class taught in a group setting by a variety of professionals who specialize in nutrition, exercise, nursing, and social services for 10 consecutive weeks. This is a very affordable class that comes with a manual to keep for your own personal use.
Graham Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab will educate you while you exercise. Cardiac risk factors and pulmonary management video education, as well as instructor led education, is available to address your needs and get you out the door and back to living life. Some of the topics covered are nutrition, cooking demonstrations, stress, medications, cholesterol and blood pressure management, depression, effective techniques and treatments for pulmonary diseases, etc. Individual dietary consults can be provided.
