Graham Hospital Service League Donates Equipment to Graham Hospital

(Canton, IL) Graham Health System, a leader in healthcare in Central and Western Illinois announced the Graham Hospital Service League generously purchased and donated equipment to the hospital.

A Halo Bassinet was purchased for the OB Department to allow a mother to safely reach their infant without leaving the bed. This bassinet improves bonding for those mothers who are on bedrest and would otherwise be unable to touch the infant without assistance.

The Emergency Department was the recipient of an Accuvein, or a vein finder. This handheld device illuminates the veins, aiding the clinical staff in the insertion of IV’s or blood draws.  The Accuvein is helpful to patients who are a “hard stick”, helping to reduce the needle insertions.

The Service League purchased two Welch Allyn Connex Spot Monitors for the Walnut Street Terrace Nursing Home.  These monitors assist in enhancing clinical efficiency and patient outcomes by capturing a full set of vital signs, Blood Pressure, SP02 and temperature, in less than a minute.

Bob Senneff, President and CEO stated, “Graham is very blessed to have a phenomenal group who put forth so much effort and tirelessly give back to the hospital and the community through their volunteerism”.  Senneff added, since the inception of the Service League in 1959, the volunteers have donated $1,833,033 in the form of medical equipment to Graham Health System.

Graham’s Service League is made up of approximately 50 individuals who volunteer their time in various areas of the Health System. These volunteers manage the Gift Shoppe & Boutique, located right inside the main doors of the hospital, assist with the Graham Hospital Foundation fund raisers, as well as act as hostesses in the Surgery Department.  They volunteer throughout the year in order to help raise much needed funds to support the equipment needs of Graham Hospital and the 6 Graham Medical Group Clinics.
