Beginning with prenatal care, through labor and delivery and follow-up care after the birth of your baby, we will be with you, providing expertise at our state of the art facility.

Graham offers personalized care during your labor and the birth of your baby.  We also have a registered lactation consultant on staff who will work with you and your baby to provide breastfeeding support.

Graham Hospital is licensed as a Level II Nursery. In simple terms, this means we have the facility, training and nurses to care for select infants of higher risk, including preterm babies and twins.  Our physicians and nurses are skilled in fetal monitoring and are Neonatal Resuscitation providers.

Prenatal Care

Our obstetrics team will expertly guide you through all stages of your pregnancy, providing you with an individualized care plan including regular check-ups and prenatal testing.  You will learn about nutrition, develop a birth plan and prepare to welcome your bundle of joy.

Labor and Delivery

The birthing unit at Graham Hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities.  Our birthing unit is designed to provide you with the best experience possible.  We offer private postpartum, triage and labor and delivery rooms, all designed to ensure both the comfort and safety of you and your newborn. Our unit is securely locked down with continuous infant security monitoring to ensure maximum safety for you and your newborn.

Sometimes deliveries don’t go as planned. Should you require a cesarean section, our surgery suite is located within the obstetrics department to help ensure a quick transition and the safe delivery of your infant.

Whether you choose to deliver with either a physician at a hospital or a midwife at home, Graham Health System Obstetrics Team and Birthing Unit is there to make sure all your needs are provided for.  In case of high-risk pregnancy or unexpected emergency, our team and facilities are fully equipped to provide urgent critical care for mom or newborn.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

SIDS is a sudden, unexpected death of a baby younger than one year of age that doesn’t’ have a known cause.

What does a safe sleep environment look like for a baby?
The sleep surface is flat and level, covered only by a fitted sheet.  The sleep area should be clear on objects, including toys.  The sleep space should be in the same room as the parents, but separate from their bed.

Actions that help keep the baby safe and reduce the baby’s risk of dying during sleep:

  • Place babies on their backs to sleep for naps and at night.
  • Use a sleep surface that is firm, flat, level and covered only by a fitted sheet.
  • Share your room with baby, not your bed for at least the first 6 months.
  • Feed baby human milk, by breastfeeding.
  • Keep the baby’s sleep area clear with no objects.

How We are Serving You:

I am a cardio rehab patient and I would like to acknowledge the great care I’m receiving in rehab.  Everyone involved in the program is personable, knowledgeable, and well trained.  They are responsible for dropping my BP from 252/100+ to 136/73. I feel safe under their watch!
