Graham Health System Grows Again with Approval for Outpatient Surgery Center in Galesburg
[Galesburg, IL] — [March 25, 2025] — Last week, the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board granted approval for the construction of Graham Health System's new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Galesburg. This exciting development will mark the third phase of the Graham Medical Group Center for Ambulatory Care, located at 2028 N. Seminary Street, and is part of a $20 million investment in healthcare for the region.
The new 8,500 square-foot facility is slated to begin construction this summer, with the goal of being fully operational by September 2026. Once completed, the ASC will complement the existing Specialty and Primary Care Clinics, Convenient Care, Imaging Center, and Endoscopy Center, all of which are already in full operation at the campus.
“The new Ambulatory Surgery Center demonstrates Graham Health System’s ongoing investment in our community, expanding access to excellent health services and solidifying their vital role in the Galesburg area”, stated Steve Chessman, Seventh Ward Galesburg City Council Member.
“This new facility will be the icing on the cake, so to speak,” said Bob Senneff, CEO & President of Graham Health System. “With this approval, we are one step closer to bringing even more comprehensive outpatient surgical services to the Galesburg area. Our goal has always been to enhance accessibility to top-tier healthcare and fill the significant void left by the closure of Cottage Hospital. This new Ambulatory Surgery Center will be instrumental in offering a choice for local residents, while meeting the growing healthcare needs of our community. We are thrilled to continue serving our community and look forward to welcoming patients to the new facility in 2026.”
Services offered throughout the Galesburg GMG Clinic network include: Family Practice, Pediatrics, Urology, Gynecology, General Surgery, Otolaryngology, Podiatry, Wound Care, Convenient Care Clinics; Endoscopy, Full-Service imaging (MRI, DEXA, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, & CT).
The Ambulatory Surgery Center will offer advanced surgical services in a state-of-the-art, patient-friendly environment, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for both patients and healthcare providers. This will be a critical addition to the Galesburg area, providing high-quality care close to home.
Ken Springer, President of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development, expressed his support for the project: “It’s fantastic to see Graham Health System continue to invest in Knox County. Bob Senneff and his leadership team remain dedicated to strengthening the healthcare landscape in our region.”
To date, the GMG Galesburg Clinic network has served over 10,000 patients and completed nearly 37,000 visits serving patients from 295 distinct zip codes.
All Graham Medical Group Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers are accepting new patients with same-day or next-day appointments available in most cases.
